# Offline Document Redactor

> A desktop document-redaction application for preparing reviewed copies before AI use or external sharing, with document processing on the user's computer. macOS and Windows releases are in preparation; Linux is planned later.

The product name is Offline Document Redactor. Its website is https://offlinedocredactor.com/. The initial focus is accounting and tax workflows in English. The website is informational and does not accept document uploads.

The workflow is: select documents and relevant country/domain coverage; find and review sensitive details; choose redaction, placeholders or appropriate retained content; save a separate copy and inspect the result. The original is preserved. There is no automatic upload to an AI service. Initial installation and model setup may require downloads.

Public macOS and Windows installers are not currently linked. OS requirements, pricing and license details have not been published. Linux is a later target, not a current download. The website embeds a Brevo signup form for launch notifications. Signup is optional and requires an internet connection.

Detection can miss information. Context can still reveal identity after direct identifiers are removed. Redaction and pseudonymization do not guarantee anonymity, compliance or permission to share. The initial format focus is text-based unencrypted PDF, ordinary DOCX and UTF-8 TXT/pasted text. Scans and complex structures need explicit support. This is not an always-on firewall or browser interceptor.
